WAVE UNIVERSITY WEBINAR SCHEDULE

June 4, 2010 - “Straight from the Battlefield ~ Case Studies on Security Breach”
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM EDT
Click Here to View The Presentation
Corporate security is an important issue for every company and law firm, no matter how large or small. However, the nature and focus of security has changed dramatically in the last 10 years. Most current businesses and lawyers use digital technologies, computers, wireless devices and other recent innovations to run more efficiently.

Unfortunately, these technological advances also pose a threat to system integrity with security breaches happening on a regular basis. In fact, billions of dollars are spent each year on electronic corporate security solutions intended to fight off hacker attacks. What most people fail to realize is that:

  • More than 80 percent of security breaches are caused by insiders - most often employees
  • More than 20 percent of attacks on the corporate websites are coming from the inside
  • Almost 30 percent of companies experience more than five attacks from the inside per year.*

This "straight from the battlefield" presentation will provide case studies that describe in detail the most recent computer security incidents that Mandiant has responded to on behalf of organizations. The three or four anonymous in-depth case studies will be covered about the recent complex hacks against commercial organizations and law firms. The talk will go into how the intruders are gaining access, what they are doing, what they are after and some precautionary steps that every organization should take to lower risk.

Cloud computing is quickly shaping up to be the 2010 technology phrase of the year.

How does computing in the cloud affect considerations for Privacy, Disclosure and Discovery? It creates problems related to knowing your systems, finding your data and determining the applicable laws. It also carries great promise in consolidating systems and data, and in facilitating economical access to data and resources.

This webinar will feature perspectives from both sides of the privacy perspective (the US and the EU) and will address both the problems and promises of cloud computing. develop the Maryland Protocol, a very well thought out document that provides steps and
recommendations as they pertain to litigation and electronically stored information. It was

August 18, 2009 - How to Process and Review Non-English Discovery Data

Recorded Link: https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/558419443

Wave University is excited to have a panel of experts gather together to discuss and demonstrate how to process and review non-English discovery data. As the world becomes smaller and discovery becomes more complex, the era of “we’ll deal with it if we have to” is over. This is especially true for companies and law firms who are targeting multiple markets or countries. This webinar is an opportunity to learn about new complexities to consider other than standard EDD processing.

This webinar tackles the key issues to watch out for with the EU Directives; provides a view into some technologies that can process and cull non-English data; and offers a look into a review platform that lets you search, view and review non-English data… in English.

 Webinar presenters include:

Nigel Murray is the founder and Managing Director of TRILANTIC, a London-based company that specializes in EU eDisclosure.  Nigel has been in the litigation support industry since 1991; initially he was a litigation support manager, and during the 2000s, has been at the forefront of the UKeDiscovery industry.  Nigel is a frequent speaker at both public events around the world and training sessions within law firms and corporations.

Richard Clark is the Director of Business Development at Wave Software.  Richard is a frequent presenter at Wave University, and has published work on how firms can easily manage e-discovery matters to cut cost and simplify the process. As one of the founders of Wave Software, and with eight years of experience in e-discovery, he has been instrumental in accommodating the needs of the legal marketplace for high volume data culling and preparation for review.
