The e-Discovery boom of the late 1990’s led to a shift in the legal industry that saw law firms begin to use in-house technology to explore more time and cost-efficient options to deal with growing amounts of electronic data. As more cases began focusing on electronic data stored on hard drives, legal professionals began to seek more knowledge around e-Discovery.
We created Trident in response to these growing needs. Trident was released in 2005 as a pre-culling and native production suite, and grew into a more complete suite of utilities to manage large amounts of PST, NSF and loose file data. In 2006, Wave Software was formally organized to develop and market improved and more advanced software that enabled corporations, law firms, accounting firms and regulatory agencies to comply with 2006 Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) amendments and deal more effectively with the growing demands of e-Discovery.
In subsequent years, Wave Software’s products have gained popularity with Fortune 500 companies, top law firms, government agencies and forensics companies and won numerous industry awards. Wave’s flagship product, Trident Pro, won the 2008 Socha-Gelbmann Top Provider award, 2009 ITFlorida awards and two other Law Technology News (LTN) awards in 2009. In 2010, Wave acquired E.L. Native Review and E.L. Native Review for LexisNexis Concordance®.
